Australian born KELLIE WRIGHT has enjoyed a career in entertainment that has spanned the globe from Australia to Japan to the US. She is currently living in Las Vegas and will be starring as Ethel Merman in ICONS of Stage and Screen at Freedom Hall in Henderson on August 1st, will be seen as Mrs Peacockney in I DON'T HAVE A CLUE opening soon at Bally's Hotel and Casino and also Assistant Directed the recent, local production of CABARET at The Onyx Theatre. She recently portrayed Madame Thernardier in the Gala Concert Version of LES MISERABLES at Ham Hall at UNLV and also the world premiere of ANTON CHEKHOV'S CHERRY ORCHARD OF THE LIVING DEAD at The Onyx Theatre for which she won Best Actress in a Principle Role in the LV Valley Awards. She was featured in Bill Fayne's THE BOOK OF MERMAN a musical review tribute to Ethel Merman and other credits include Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD...THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET ,Joanne in a limited run in COMPANY "I'll drink to that...!" and as a featured singer in the showstopping RagTag/Bill Fayne production SHOWSTOPPERS , both at The Las Vegas Hotel...(featuring some of the best of Vegas singing the best of Broadway) and...Kellie was thrilled to have been able to share the same stage with BARBRA STREISAND, singing behind her, with the amazing Desert Angels Choir at the MGM Grand Arena in her BARBRA STREISAND LIVE concert...
One of her favorites roles was the Chaperone in the hilarious Tony award winning musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE which received the LVRJ "Tony" for Outstanding Production of 2011. Kellie has starred in a variety of shows at the Rivercree Casino, in Edmonton, Canada including, MURDER IN MARGARITAVILLE, HOMICIDE TAKES A HOLIDAY and I LOVE YOU TO DEATH...and A HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA all produced by Starrpro Entertainment. She was the star and co-host of SHOWSTOPPERS and SHOWSTOPPERS TOO, spectacular Broadway reviews, at the Northern Quest Casino in Spokane ,WA. and in Breck Wall's BOTTOMS UP with Rip Taylor and also starred as Ms Mona in THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS at The Plaza Hotel and Casino. She also performs regularly in Murder Mysteries for A TOUCH OF MYSTERY.
Kellie sings in Farrington Production’s DIVAS UNDERCOVER for corporate events and also sang regularly with her 8 piece ALL STAR SWING BAND comprised of some of the best musicians around, who have also played with such notable stars as Frank Sinatra, The Harry James Orchestra, Liza and on The Lawrence Welk Show. KELLIE spent 2 years performing the role of Mrs Vitale, Tina's mom, in TONY ‘n TINA’S WEDDING, and recorded the CD for a new musical/cabaret show, SAME OLD SONGS, which also features Carlo Driggs, former lead singer for Paul Revere and The Raiders. KELLIE WRIGHT’S singing styles and experience have included everything from Country and Rock to Musical Theatre and Jazz and Blues. This versatile and powerful performer is equally at home on stage or in the studio and she is as comfortable in an intimate setting with a piano or small jazz trio as she is in a concert venue with a 20 piece orchestra.
KELLIE has been the lead vocalist for many bands, both in the US and Japan, headlining or opening for events that also featured THE BEACH BOYS, THE WILKENSONS and 98 DEGREES. Kellie was a featured singer in the multi-million dollar production of JUBILEE at Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas and starred in numerous shows at DISNEYLAND, including the long running GOLDEN HORSESHOE REVIEW in which she played the part of Miss Lily.
KELLIE has had experience working in commercials both in the US and Australia and in various musicals in California and Las Vegas including OLIVER, CABARET, SWEET CHARITY, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and performed the role of Mrs Meers in a Las Vegas production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, for which she was awarded a LV Review Journal "Tony" for Best Supporting Actress. She enjoyed for many years working for HORRIGAN PRODUCTIONS in California as a session singer, during which time she recorded various CDs.
